Subiendo desde el puerto con Graciela, llegamos al faro y a una bonita ermita, la de la Virgen de la Blanca, también conocida como la ermita de la Atalaya, por el nombre de la zona en la que también se encuentra el cementerio donde está enterrado Severo Ochoa.
Esta ermita fue restaurada en 1961 y tiene un retablo impresionante de Jesús Nazareno, una obra barroca del siglo XVII instalada en la capilla mayor. Aquí se puede ver una imagen de vestir del Nazareno, junto con las figuras de Santa Ana, la Virgen y el Niño. La Virgen de la Blanca tiene una historia interesante; cuentan que fue encontrada en una cueva excavada por el mar.
Algunos creen que esta talla pudo haber sido arrojada al mar por los ingleses cuando se convirtieron al Protestantismo.
